Crafts for PEACE is helping disadvantaged women artisans in Uganda to create a sustainable living for themselves and their children. Proceeds of artisan sales to Crafts for PEACE and other distributors go towards housing, food and school fees.
Crafts for PEACE believes in :
a. purchasing crafts created by the artisans at fair prices, and paying 100% of the product prices before delivery.
b. donating directly to the artisans financially, or in kind such as supplies
c. donating time and talents such as marketing, organization and product development
d. encouraging collaboration and support amongst the artisans to help each other to learn crafts.
e. encouraging artisans to extend empowerment to their communities through different projects
f. building a long lasting friendship with the artisans.
g. uplifting the artisans and their work by appropriate, representation of the artisan's culture
h. purchasing directly from artisan groups headed by a native of the artisans' country
